Care for some Kare-Kare
September 12th, 2010 | by upto6only |what i like about long weekends, i get to rest and rest a lot. Aside from resting, i decided to cook kare-kare. Why this? because, i’ve tasted the best kare-kare when i attended our monthly club meeting. The sauce is so creamy. So i decided to replicate it.
Cooking this kind of food takes a long process a lot of peanut sauce to make it good. Well, aside from the peanut sauce, a good tasting bagoong (fermented fish paste) makes kare-kare really yummy. Good thing there are many instant kare-kare mix in the market. I’ve used Mama Sita’s kare-kare mix and a whole bottle of Ludy’s peanut butter. Since the mix does not make the food red, i added atsuete (Annatto). And according to my mom, to make the sauce even thicker, you need to add ground rice (bigas)
This was my lunch, dinner and even breakfast :p

Sarap ng long weekend noh. Dahil sa long weekend, nakapag cook ako ng afritada at nakapag bake ng cheesecake

Sobrang sarap talaga ng kare kare, ang ginagawa ko nga nag huhunting ako ng mga kainan na masarap ang kare kare tapos iraraete ko hahaha.
